The past few months have been insane! I left my job of nearly 5 years, (started there when I was 16), started a new job, in a city relatively new to me, whilst still working towards my degree in "Applied Computing". (Think of computers, and workplaces, and merge the two together).

So, combining the excitement of starting a new job, whilst working on a Research Project for my dissertation has been crazy, but in just over a month I'll have finished my degree, handed in my dissertation alongside everything else, and that will be it. What I have worked towards for the past 3 years *should* be achieved.

The idea of graduating has been something which I've looked forward to finishing since the start of my second year. I took an unconventional route for studying, stayed at home, and taught a uni-franchised course nearby. If I were starting over again would I take this route? I'm not sure, but either way its been fun - I'd like to turn around here and say "its been a journey", but alas, that is a bit X-Factor-y and I'm not sure its been that much of a journey, an experience however for sure.
Then comes the next stage for me. The future. I have not long sent out my 10,000th tweet on Twitter and chose to send a quote from Abraham Lincoln:
"The best way to predict the future is to create it".
This I think sums up how I'm feeling about the next stage for me. My job so far is great, and travelling into the city is fine. I need to explore there more, and I'm ready to leave my little town behind and go towards the big bright lights! I'm not going to predict the future, but I'm going to make it happen. The end of May signifies the end of my studies (for now at least), and I will have some time to reflect, enjoy my day to day life, and make that all important change; leaving home, and moving into the city!
It's safe to say I can't wait, and now it seems within reaching distance, but that doesn't mean there isn't loads to do beforehand.

On your marks, get set, go!
Okay, I'll admit right from the beginning anyone who has previously read any number of my blogs in the past you will notice that this one uses that same design.
Well, if something works then why change it? Plus, I really do like this layout. That said, I am currently using Blogger, and may migrate this over to Tumblr at some stage, but then again I may not.

So, whats new? Well, for starters I'm now using a new domain; matthunt.me. I've been trying for ages to get this domain, and now I've finally got it (thanks GoDaddy!) I'm a happy man!
Plus, my "Share" widget over to the left (under my Twitter feed) has a couple of new additions. You can now share my blog though Google+, and/or Pinterest if you so wish.

The blog will act as a space to moan about my never-ending uni work, although thats a lie as I finish in about 8 weeks, I might use this space to try and get some more questionnaire responses - it might be worth a shot, and finally being the TV show and gadget geek I am at heart, I may treat you to some shockingly poor photos from Gadget Show Live taken on my phone in the next few days, along with a few rants about that. Heh, I'm giving you a lot here; first Google+ and Pinterest, a new easier domain, AND the promise of poorly taken photos of Suzi Perry, I hope you all appreciate it.

Well, now I've wetted your appetite, I'm off. Look forward to whats to come!
